Insulation for Valley businesses

Commercial buildings in the Valley face the same heat as homes, on a bigger roof. The cooling season runs most of the year, a large roof soaks up sun all afternoon, and the electric bill shows it. Metal buildings gain heat fastest of all.

We insulate warehouses, metal shops, offices, retail spaces and the walls and ceilings next to cooled storage areas. The right material depends on the building. A bare metal roof calls for a different approach than an office with a drop ceiling.

We know a business cannot shut down for a week. We can plan around your hours and work in sections so the space stays usable. Our crew is bilingual, so hablamos español with you and your staff.

Matching the insulation to the building

Each type of space has its own problem to solve. Here is where we usually start.

BuildingCommon problemUsual fit
Metal building or shopHeat through the panels, roof dripping on humid morningsClosed cell foam on the underside of roof and walls
WarehouseHot work floor, high cooling load or no AC at allSpray foam on the roof deck
Office or retailUneven rooms, high bills, noise between suitesBlown in above the ceiling, batts in partitions

Closed cell foam runs about R-6 to R-7 per inch and slows water vapor, which is why it suits metal and damp areas. Our post on commercial insulation for Valley business owners goes into more detail.

Where it pays off

Spaces where insulation earns its keep

Metal roofs that sweat

Warm, humid air meets a cool panel and drips on stock and equipment. Closed cell foam keeps the air off the metal.

Hot work floors

Shops and warehouses with little or no AC get easier to work in when the roof stops radiating heat down.

Offices and storefronts

Insulation above the ceiling and in walls evens out temperatures and takes load off the rooftop units.

Next to cooled rooms

Insulating shared walls and ceilings slows heat moving into the cold side.

When to skip it: if a small office has an accessible attic and just needs more depth, blown in insulation may do the job for less than foam. We will tell you which one fits.

How it works

What a commercial job looks like

01

Walk the building

We look at the roof, walls, ceiling, existing insulation and how the space is used day to day.

02

Proposal in writing

Material, thickness, areas covered and a schedule that fits your operation.

03

Protect the space

Stock, equipment and work areas are covered or moved, and we section off the area we are working in.

04

Install and clean up

Insulation goes in to the specified depth, we clean up, and the space is ready to use.

What commercial insulation costs

Commercial jobs are priced per project. The total depends on square footage, ceiling height and lift access, the type and thickness of insulation, how much has to be moved or protected, any old material to remove, and whether the work has to happen in sections or outside normal hours.

Every job gets a written price after a free walkthrough. Our page on what affects insulation cost explains what to compare between quotes.

Commercial insulation questions

Can you work around our business hours?
  • We can plan around your hours.
  • Larger buildings can be done in sections so part of the space stays open.
What works best on a metal building?
  • Closed cell spray foam on the underside of the roof and walls is usually the right answer.
  • It handles the heat and the condensation that comes with metal in our humidity.
Do you work with general contractors?
  • Yes, on new builds and retrofits.
  • We can share product data for the materials we propose.
Does foam on the roof deck need a covering?
  • Often, yes. Code can require a thermal or ignition barrier over foam depending on how the space is used.
  • We include what your building needs in the written price.
