Why batt and wall insulation works in Valley homes
Batts are pre-cut lengths of fiberglass or mineral wool fitted between studs and joists. When the walls are open, whether that is new construction, a remodel, or a garage conversion, batts are the fastest and most economical way to get insulation in place.
The catch is that batts only perform when they are cut and fitted properly. Compressed, gapped, or stuffed around wiring, they lose a large share of their rated R-value. Careful installation is most of the job.

When are batts the right choice?
When the walls or joists are open and accessible, and when budget matters more than air sealing. For an existing closed wall, blown-in or foam is usually the better option.
Do batts help with air leaks?
Not on their own. Batts slow heat transfer but do not seal air movement, so we air seal separately where it matters.
Fiberglass or mineral wool?
Fiberglass for most residential work. Mineral wool where you want better fire resistance or sound damping, such as a shared wall.
